NEW AUTHOR GAETAN PIKIOUNE JUNIOR’S BOOK ‘THE ADVENTURES OF SEAN THE SQUIRREL AND NATE THE NIGHTINGALE’ INSPIRES CHILDREN TO CELEBRATE DIFFERENCES AND BE KIND TO OTHERS

The first book by Port-Vila based Gaetan Pikioune Junior, written to shine a light on school yard bullying and the importance of being inclusive and kind.

‘The Adventures of Sean the Squirrel and Nate the Nightingale: Notorious Caleb the Cat’ is a heart-warming tale about friendship and kindness, beautifully illustrated for kids aged 5 – 12 years. Sean and Nate, who is in a wheelchair, are best friends who look out for each other. The school bully, Caleb the Cat is picking on them again in the playground and pushes Nate to the ground. But when Caleb is in trouble, Nate is the first to rush to help. Nate becomes a hero and Caleb learns that bullying is wrong and that it’s important to treat everyone with respect and kindness.

In creating the story, Gaetan was drawing from his own childhood school experiences. A victim of bullying throughout his school years, Gaetan aims to teach children to be conscious about their actions, and to realise the impact that bullying can have on the victim. His hope is that this story both entertains and inspires children to be the best version of themselves and to be kind to their classmates and neighbors. It has been a long-held dream of his to publish a book that helps children.
