Special Projects

With our understanding of the special requirements of Pacific Schools and their curriculums, we have partnered with many educational institutions and Aid agencies to supply teaching and student resources that are designed specifically to meet curriculum and cultural objectives.

Our in-house team has decades of experience across Education, Marketing and Design, plus we have established relationships with respected Translators, Editors and Printers. This enables us to concept, write, design and print bespoke teaching resources including:

    • Literacy and numeracy materials
    • Textbooks / workbooks (in multiple languages)
    • Readers (translated to local language)
    • Teaching support resources (posters, flip-charts etc

Having delivered many large-scale projects for our Pacific partners, we understand the logistical difficulties involved in shipping to outer islands and have developed best-in-class methods across packing, freight and logistics.

We believe that Pacific schools should not just have to ‘make do’ with resources that are not tailored to their curriculum, local language and culture. Please contact Rae on rae@readpacific.co.nz or call us to discuss your specialised project and how we can support you.

Some of our recent projects include:

Completed - Akama School WASH Project!

We are very happy to announce that the Akama School WASH Project has been completed. Read Pacific very proudly donated $5000.00 USD to the project which saw the building of sanitary ablution blocks for the children. In addition, the large volume of stored water will provide security for the broader community.

The school has a student population of 150. The facilities are not replacing existing facilities, they are new to the school and community.

Akama School WASH Project

In late 2016 Read Pacific Ltd donated US$5000 to support the Akama School WASH project at Lamen Bay, Epi Island in Vanuatu.

The WASH project is to provide the Akama Primary School with a sanitary ablution facility and assist with the education of the children and village.

Most schools in Vanuatu neither have clean drinking water available nor appropriate toilet facilities for the children.  This project intends to rectify the problem for the children at Akama Primary School.  In addition, the large volume of stored water will provide security for the broader community.

The school has a student population of 150. The facilities are not replacing existing facilities, they are new to the school and community.

Year 4 Social Sciences Textbook : Vanuatu

In partnership with the Ministry of Education and Training in Vanuatu, we developed a full Student Textbook which is now being used across all schools in Vanuatu. Designed to align with the Teacher’s Guide, we delivered a textbook featuring 30 learning units and written in 3 languages. Our team of writers and editors delivered great content to support learning objectives, whilst our design team brought it to life with full-colour photos and illustrations.

Numeracy Kits : Vanuatu

In 2018 we designed and delivered 600 Numeracy Kits to all schools across Vanuatu. Concepted to meet the specific teaching and learning objectives of the Ministry of Education and Training in Vanuatu, the Kits featured a range of maths resources as well as bespoke teaching resources such as flip charts and posters, designed and printed by Read Pacific.

School & Community Learning Resource Kits : Papua New Guinea

In partnership with Save the Children PNG, we delivered 780 kits that included specially printed materials including a Teaching Flipbook and Guide, readers printed in the local language and reading cards to support reading development. As part of the RISE Community Action program, the kits were distributed to specially trained Community Literacy Volunteers to support improved teaching practices and community-based literacy activities.
