About Read Pacific
At Read Pacific we believe that teaching is one of the most important jobs in the world. For three generations our family has been involved in education and support, providing a complete range of resources and general school supplies to our customers both in schools and educational institutions in all Pacific Island countries and New Zealand.
With over 26 years in business, Read Pacific stocks a wide range of products to support great learning, including books, math's and science equipment, art & craft supplies, stationery, classroom furniture, musical, library and sports equipment.
In our Auckland-based warehouse, we have over 20,000 lines of stock on hand and we also publish and print on demand in many Pacific Island Languages. These projects are done in consultation with Ministries of Education and Aid Agencies and will often include an English translation to accompany the local language version. In 2017 we opened a second office in Port Vila, Vanuatu to better support our Pacific Island customers.
One of our special passions is promoting reading programs specially developed for Pacific primary schools. Because we understand the special requirements of Pacific Schools and their curriculums, many educational institutions around the Pacific use us to supply and advise them with appropriate resources.
We have successfully partnered with many major Pacific Aid projects through a wide range of Pacific and International agencies and now have considerable expertise in the delivery of these Aid projects. Please contact us if you require any further details regarding future projects and planning.

Our Scholarship Programme
As part of our commitment to helping the success of our Pacific Island neighbours we offer scholarships to secondary students in years 10-13 to help these students complete their secondary education. One of the most satisfying parts of our business, and on a personal level, is keeping in touch with past scholarship recipients and following their success at a tertiary level. The scholarships are awarded equally to female and male students and are provided for students who would not be able to complete their schooling due to lack of funds.
Our scholarships were originally created in memory of the Rev. Frank McKean- Rae’s dad, who was responsible for "Operation Bookworm”- a project, back in 1979 which saw the donation of brand new books into 250 schools throughout Vanuatu and the Solomon Islands.
Meet scholarship recipient Gaetan Pikioune Junior 24 years old from the Island of Santo in Vanuatu, Read Pacific supported Junior to complete year 13 at Malapoa College and he's gone on to accomplish great things! Graduating from the University of the South Pacific in Fiji with a Bachelor of Commerce (Double Degree in Accounting & Economics), Junior then worked as a Junior Auditor and Accountant for Barrett & Partners for 2 years before joining the Utilities Regulatory Authority of Vanuatu as the Assistant Auditor in March 2017. A lovely young man and role model and we're so proud to have helped him to achieve his goals.
Meet Stanley Ailson from the Island of Malekula in Vanuatu. Read Pacific sponsored Stanley in Form 7 at Malapoa College and he has since completed his Bachelor in Public Health & Promotion at the Fiji School of Medicine and is now currently in second year Medicine. Stanley has showed a lot of determination and his advice for future candidates is to never take things for granted, always aim higher and make the most use of your time and success will follow.
Meet Trianna Peter, 16 years of age and currently completing her Year 9 studies at Lycee Lap Secondary School in Vanuatu. Read Pacific is supporting Trianna to complete her secondary school studies. Trianna dreams of becoming a Teacher in the future to teach and improve the education standard for the next generation. Trianna believes the struggles and lessons learnt in this journey are a stepping stone for her to become better at everything she does in the future.
